Yagya Gor, a musical genius from Bhuj, Kutch is a young talent to watch out for. Born on 24.02.2011, his passion took him to drum classes when he was barely 4.5 years. He played the ROTO drum set and fell in love with it since then his journey began.
He was first introduced to the fascinating world of percussion music at the Chhattibari Mahila Mandal classes run by Chetansir Thaker and Pankajsir. He came in to the public eye in 2017 and confidently performed at the Ummednagar, Bhuj, Navratri. He performed under the popular musician Kishorsir Joshi and played the drums with seasoned artist Ashoksir in Ummednagar. It was a sheer joy to see the young lad enjoying the festival.
Since then there is no looking back and in the same year Yagya played the
ROTO drum set at the Matruchhaya school garba and later at the Shivnagar
In 2018, he started his formal table classes under Shri Jigarsir Mankad.
His talent with the ROTO drum was noticed by one and all during Rameshwar Mitra Mandal’s Navratri Mahotsav in 2018 and 2019 where he performed with Parthsir Joshi and Dhirensir Thakkar’s group.
He has played various instruments like the snare drum, handkick drum and
roto drum sets at several Maha Arti’s like -
Shri Jalaram Bapu Mandir, Bhuj
Shri Palara Mahadev Mandir, Bhuj
NarNarayan Nagar, Bhuj
Shri Ganesh Mahotsav at the RTO Relocation Site, Bhuj
Shri Nagnath Mahadev Mandir, Bhuj
Shri Pataleshwar Mahadev Mandir, Village Nagore, District Bhuj
Yagya has also successfully played with different bands and groups for event like marriage and other cultural programs across Kutch.He has played the snare drum, bass drum, handkick drum and roto drum at various dandiya raas programs in Nironha, Bhuj Vadvakaya, Gadhsisa; Desalpar, Aasambiya –Mandvi, Madhapar and Bhuj.
Since last two years he is regularly playing with different Mandals in Bhuj at
different cultural programs like the Shri Rajgor Mandal Bhuj, Shri
Trambakeshwar Mahadev Mandir, Shri Ganesh Mahotsav at Siddharth Park,
Juni Rawalwadi, Bhuj.
He is also a regular performer at the very popular Shri Ganesh Mahotsav
organized by Friends group at the Tin City and also at the annual program
organized by the Chhattibari Mahila Mandal under the able guidance of
Chetansir Thaker and Pankajsir.He has also played various instruments at the Shro Matruchhaya school’s musical and cultural programs.
Yagya has been playing various percussion instruments for two years like Dhol,Bongo, Dholak and Congo (Triple) daily during his school prayers since he was in class 2.
At present he keeps practicing regularly various instruments like Tabla, Dhol,Bongo, Dholak , Congo (Triple),Djembe,,snare drum, bass drum, handkick drum and roto drum.
